I'm leaving the pony fandom;
I'm done with all the gossiping and the bitching,
The back-stabbing and the gender-switching
Between people who pretend they're something
They're not. [5]

I'm getting out of the fandom;
I'm sick of its porn and its gore,
Its darker side and its desire for more
To join the herd of egotistical pricks
Like them. [10]

I'm tired of this fandom;
I'm bored by endless proverbs and morals,
By the puffed-up glands of internet quarrels
Of who loves and tolerates in greater amounts
And wins. [15]

I've had it with this fandom;
I'm hateful towards drama and exaggeration,
Towards those who react to every situation
That comes about and fucks with their next
Great idea. [20]

I've given up with this fandom;
I'm leaving DeviantArt and deactivating my account,
Leaving behind my reputation and getting out
Of this mess of a culture of childish
New-borns. [25]

Well, I'm still in this fandom;
I decided to give it another shot,
Because without the bitching and the clop
Culture, and the drama and the preaching
That surrounds me like vultures, [30]
I have nothing to complain about,
Which doesn't suit me well.
This is directed towards every brony who has ever threatened to leave the MLP fandom, only to pussy out. However, it's also something of a personal sentiment.

There's a Hole in my Lyra (Down Below) "Written from the Venerable Earl... to the concerned party,

It has come to my attention that with grave discourse many have seemingly adopted a negative stance towards the recent pony plush-toy range with the custom-cut vagina. I contend that such a plush has every right to exist and that those negatively disposed towards it are failing to see the multitudinous benefits to its existence. Firstly, and with the greatest of importance, may I add, I strongly argue that this plush-toy is no less acceptable than any other erotic image or work of fiction designed with the primary objective of helping a brony to reach a satisfying climax. In fact, I
An Admonition to the Reluctant Clopper By drawing out his fleshy tool,
He half-invites to be taken for a fool,
When reluctance fails to help him repent,
Nor escape from his practice of personal torment.
By crying loud for help to avoid this lewdness, [5]
He opts for the route of faithful shrewdness;
To give up clopping, he says with sincerity,
Would help return to a previous prosperity.
His life oft-regarded for such a precious thing,

The Great Fandom Debate I was on the internet in Springtime in a very secluded corner when I heard an obsessive and an abstainer holding a great debate. Their argument was fierce, passionate, and vehement, sometimes sotto voce, sometimes loud; and each of them swelled with rage against the other and let out all their anger, and said the very worst they could think of about the other's character, and especially they argued strongly against each other's passion.

The abstainer began the argument in the corner of a forum and perched on a high pedestal---there was plenty of distance around it--- behind an impenetrable thick wall. He was all the happier because of the wa

As long as more bronies accept people rather than shun them the fandom will prosper for as long as time, im staying in the fandom no matter what. It doesnt matter to me if people do what they wanna do E.g. Clop or whatevs... But there will always be people who stay in the fandom, and continue to love and tolerate their brothers and sisters that they knew since the beginning.

i swear some bronies make me want to quit but i know there's good one's out there.I just have a problem with the bronies that say that they are loveing and careing till you say one of those two clopper or furry then they are nothing but hateful.I had a good friend on youtube that was hacked by a brony cause he happened to be a furry that was into the show and then that brony started to hurras me just for defending him.

I am considering leaving the fandom.
Generation three was sub par, and with the Alicorn scandal, and with Hasbro once again deciding they're better than the writers of the damn show... I doubt I will make it past the first two episodes of season 4. The only foreseeable thing is the sheer chaos that will entail.

I actually quit because Hasbro is going to ruin the show, wich is why this fandom was created to begin with

first Lauren left (ouch)
then Hasbro is promoting it's toys in the show itself....that's pretty lame to be honest and I'm sure this is only the beginning, so I quit now when things are still nice and I don't even want to see the Coronation episode, because even if it's good and the writers are awesome as always, the point of her transformation is always the same = sell toys.

yup because a change in plot ruins everything all the time, books, shows, movies, games, that's certainly never happened before. because variety and new things are so overrated and rare

For people who are finding some of the fans to be insufferable (we do have a lot of problems), my advice is:
look for one of the smaller niches of the the fandomes, say one of the smaller forums or a pony thread on a forum that mostly deals with something else that you like. The small size of the regulars usulay means that you can easly discern the nature of the comunity, and that there will be far less opertunities for ugly drama to arraise.

The trend is not surprising really; as a rule (Stugeon's Law, I think), only 10% of anything would be good enough to be apprieciated, and even fewer than that exceptionally good. Applying it to this fandom, this means most of the time people would be more likely to be exposed to crap, inferior and appalling

If the brony in question would take a look at the 10% that was well done he would change his/her mind about the way the brony fandom had become.

Take "Eternal" by device-heretic, which is a powerful and emotional story which explores the character of Princess Celestia, considered be one of the best pieces of Fanfiction ever written.

Take "Fallout Equestria" by Khat, one of the most well done crossovers ever done that manages to fuse the brightest of worlds ever imagined with the darkest ever created.

Take the "Pony POV" series by Alex Warlorn, which explores the recovery of the Mane Six and other ponies from their horrific treatment by Discord in one of the most beloved philosophical and psychological fanfiction series ever created.

Take "Past Sins", a redemption fic in which of all things redeemed NIGHTMARE MOON.

Take "Equestria: Total War", a warfic done right.

Take "The Immortal Game", a darkfic done right.

Take "It's a dangerous business, going out your door", whose length and epic scale is said to rival even LORD OF THE RINGS!

And all of them stuck to MLP's themes of friendship, harmony, love and tolerance all the way through.

And let's not forget some of the most epic fanarts ever created. Take a look at these beauties drawn by these artists on DeviantART:

(For your information, the third example was drawn by Jill Thompson, the illustrator of "Brief Lives." from The Sandman Series, which was created by none other then Neil Gaiman)

Most of the folks I asked hated it. The characters are badly written, the prose is middling, the tone is completely incompatible with the show, and of course, Nyx is a Sue of the first degree.

I actually did, in fact, leave the fanbase after rewatching the show over from the beginning and not liking it nearly as much as I used to one year ago (I actually got bored while watching it), as well as being annoyed by ponies being mentioned in the comments on Youtube videos that don't have anything to do with it. I think that this poem describes my feelings perfectly, although I did end up leaving the fanbase and I have never looked back or regretted it ever since.

i have the same problem with multiplayer shooters(it doesnt even matter wich)
i'm usually the guy that balances the team, 'cause the rest of the team nearly always has negative K/D ratio.
but no matter what i always come back,
but about the fandom, yeah it's almost like the fanatics from the christian versus athe´st, the fans that actually are going nuts about every little thing...
i mean is that the only thing in your life worth freaking out about? MLP?
it's a show meant to entertain you folks, getting a heart attack over a new season isn't worth it, people

As long as I watch the show, and hear uplifting stories about how MLP has changed their lives, as long as there's still artists making art, and musicians cranking out tunes, I'm stay with the fandom. As a buddy of mine told me today, sure there are bad seeds, but that's just humanity, and we'v gotta just roll with it. There are things I don't agree with, but I let folks do what they want, as long as they don't try to change who I am, I won't try to change them.

I must agree that those people are more annoying to me than anti-bronies, then again most anti-bronies I know have watched a few episodes and are more against my openness about it, not the actual community.

&as for the flame wars between bronies, that just becomes sad to see, especially with how frequent it can become. Personally I think that if you don't agree with a section of the fandom (cloppers) or something like that, either ignore it like a mature individual, or work around it. When I became a Brony, I was adamantly against even shipping, of any kind, but I eventually decided to give it a chance, and it isn't half bad. I also (accidentally) read a few clopfics, and as long as I skimmed/skipped the actual clop so as to not be reading it, their are quite a few decent stories. I still don't agree with that idea and wish that they would just leave it as simple shipping (excluding humorous shock clop fics), but it is a simple fact of human nature; we are sick and twisted creatures that will twist what we enjoy to our perverse pleasure

A Great and Thought-provoking Satire as usual

TL;DR
Those people are extremely annoying, and either need to commit or get over themselves. And I like what you wrote.

I'm glad that you approve. I'm vehement in my opposition to clop material, but I wouldn't say that I was radical enough to make any great effort to prohibit it. I find it to be distasteful, but attempting to contain it would be impossible. I do agree, though, that those people who constantly complain that they're leaving the fandom, only to never make the final step out of it, can be irritating.
